USS Aquarius

Welcome to the USS Aquarius!

In the aftermath of the Hobus Supernova, the fractured Romulan Star Empire led to significant voids of power. The turmoil of factions and warlords posed a significant threat to Federation Safety. A series of attacks against neutral zone bordering federation colonies lead to Starfleet increase militarized border patrols. The Aquarius, the namesake for a new light escort was one of those. Originally designed to compliment the planned Odyssey Class flag cruiser, was one such vessel moved to shore-up federation interests.

Sometimes the burden of life gets in the way. Certainly for many of us the stresses COVID has placed on us have taken their toll. Personally I know that the inability to travel has caused no end of pain in terms of writing. The Aquarius is not going away, I am using my first opportunity to truly holiday in nearly 2 years to re-energise how I operate this sim.

More details to come.

Good Riddance 2020

I think the saying, "Hindsight is 2020" will induce PSTD for at least a generation after the year that was. As we close out the 2nd Quarter of an Active USS Aquarius, I smile at what is ahead. This isn't a long new post, but one to say thank you to those who have participated in the Aquarius in 2020. May 2021 bring better fortune for all.

Closing in on Q1 close

So I've been fairly quiet in public announcements since launch but it's been a fairly successful quarter to date. We're setting at 5 posts with over 4000 words contributed and a few more weeks left before we can count our first 3 months over.

We recently welcomed Lieutenant Command Greener as First Officer and Senior Chief Kade as our Chief of the Boat and I formally use this news item to welcome them.

In the next month we will see us transition from our kick off into our first formal mission, stay tuned for more info.

Off to the Races!

Welcome to the USS Aquarius - NX 97033! I am proud to announce we are now live. In the coming days from the date of post of this news item, our kick off pre-mission will be live, allowing players to post.

This last few weeks have been a mammoth effort of all founding members. We have gone from a concept, to a fully fledged sim. I am a mix of proud, thankful and excited for what is becoming.

The Aquarius is a 323 rated sim, with a "the lower decks" feel. We build upon the backstory given in Picard Season 1, to realise what
it might be like patrolling a sector of space around the Romulan Neutral Zone, building upon Warlords trying to mark their claim to the territory, the effects of the fractured Empire and the turmoil experienced by displaced Romulans; what it might look like and why ultimately by 2399 there was limited to no Federation Presence out there.

Angus traversed narrow corridor of the Vashon bound for main Engineering. He hadn't had a good night sleep. Concern over the ships lack of Warp flight was plaguing him; in addition, the continuation of the sensor grid to show unexplainable anomalous blips. Long range communications had also started to become…
